Information Technology Consulting for Community Based Projects

Duey Associates is a small consulting firm that specializes in information technology issues for rural communities. Recent projects include:

• Vermont Rural Broadband Project A Vermont Council on Rural Development project which assists community action groups in rural Vermont towns to obtain affordable broadband service for their towns. Project information is available at www.VTRuralBroadband.org

• ConnectNEK A USDA-funded demonstration project which assists small businesses in northeastern Vermont with implementing WiFi hotspots. The goals of this project are to introduce small businesses to Internet applications, to assist the growth of small businesses, and to provide public access to broadband in an area with marginal broadband availability.

• NEKConnect This project studied the potential of aggregating broadband usage in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, as well as Internet usage patterns in the area and challenges to broadband availability. A PDF copy of the report is available at NEKConnect Report
